The Execution Files is a selection of photographs made the day of or the day after individuals received the death sentence from 1922-1988. These photographs were obtained from 928 individual research files compiled by a Texas-based sociologist. The photographs invite us to enter into dialogue about the complicated system of race, class, labor, ethics, economics and trauma that engulf state-facilitated systems of capital punishment.
Traveling exhibition. Full details to come.
