In 2010 I started an arts and advocacy project in San Antonio, TX working with youth experiencing homelessness. As youth would come through my office I would give them a photography book and post-it notes and invite them to add a thought if they wanted. Their comments were often the start of profound conversation. I used
Richard Renaldi's book, Figure and Ground, the most. When the project came to a close in 2011, we decided to send the book to Richard as a way to say thank you.
